About the Role

Copilot Networks LLC is seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Construction Field Engineer to support on‑site inspections, client interactions, and property assessments across the Chicago area. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in the field, communicating directly with clients, and using digital tools to document findings. The position requires strong construction knowledge and the ability to identify site issues, risks, and improvement opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of residential and commercial properties throughout Chicago, IL.

• Meet clients in person to understand project needs, gather requirements, and provide professional representation of the company.

• Perform detailed property surveys, identify structural or construction‑related issues, and document all findings.

• Use ARC software on a tablet to record inspection data, upload reports, and maintain accurate digital documentation.

• Prepare clear, concise field reports outlining observations, deficiencies, and recommendations.

• Collaborate with internal teams to communicate site conditions, risks, and next steps.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company protocols.

• Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service during all client interactions.


Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Experience in construction, civil engineering, field engineering, or a related discipline.

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and site evaluation practices.

• Ability to identify structural issues, safety hazards, and project risks during inspections.

• Proficiency with tablets and field‑reporting tools; familiarity with ARC software is a strong plus.

• Excellent communication skills, especially in face‑to‑face client interactions.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites across Chicago.

• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in field inspections, property assessments, or construction project oversight.

• Technical reporting experience using digital inspection platforms.

• Knowledge of local Chicago building codes and permitting processes.
