Job Description

SIRIS, a CVE-verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking motivated Project Managers/Construction Managers with a degree in Mechanical Engineering to join our team at a VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Candidates will act as Design and Construction Managers reporting to a Program Manager and collaborate with VA client staff to provide data, generate reports, and serve as a representative for the client on major healthcare construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the Owner's Representative role from design through construction and closeout
  2. Analyze and monitor project financial data, budget performance, and cost trends
  3. Review construction schedules and support progress and performance evaluations
  4. Participate in progress meetings and support issue identification and resolution
  5. Review testing, inspection, and quality assurance documentation for compliance
  6. Support claims administration, change management, and contract modifications
  7. Review contractor work documentation and reported progress for conformance with construction documents
  8. Prepare analytical reports, correspondence, and program status documentation
  9. Maintain tracking tools and reporting systems supporting program oversight
  10. Advise program leadership on construction administration best practices and compliance considerations
  11. Learn and integrate company's best practices related to project delivery, budget, schedule, quality and operations in healthcare environments
  12. Work with and manage personnel of diverse skillsets

Ideal Candidates:

  1. Have supported complex construction projects within healthcare, government, or institutional environments
  2. Are comfortable analyzing financial, schedule, and compliance data to support program-level decisions
  3. Can operate independently while collaborating effectively with program leadership, clients, and contractors
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution (preferred); equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience considered
  2. Minimum six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in construction administration, construction management, or closely related field
  3. Professional Engineer (PE License Required)
  4. Experience supporting regulated environments (federal, healthcare, or institutional) highly desirable
  5. Working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling
  6. Familiarity with construction practices, quality assurance, scheduling, cost management, and change management
  7. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in administrative, financial, and compliance matters
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  9. Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
  10. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment
  11. Full-time onsite work at active construction site and office environment
  12. Successful completion of background checks and compliance with federal and VA suitability requirements
  13. Adherence to all site safety, security, and confidentiality policies
  14. CCM or PMP certifications (preferred)
  15. Building construction experience (preferred)
  16. Leadership ability to collaborate and integrate with other professionals (preferred)
