Estimator — Commercial Construction📍Arlington Heights💰 80,000-100,000 (based on experience) | Full-time

Bancare has been building (literally) since 1972 — today we run two divisions covering commercial construction and bank equipment/security. We're growing our estimating team and looking for someone who wants real ownership over the numbers behind ground-up and tenant improvement projects, not just data entry into a template.

What you'll do

1. Build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects — from drawing review through final bid
2. Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs
3. Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
4. Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems
5. Sit in on pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as part of the preconstruction team
6. Hand off clean, complete bid packages to Project Management
7. Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role

What you need

1. 2+ years of commercial construction experience, including ground-up estimating, preconstruction, or related project work
2. Comfortable reading construction drawings and specs
3. Solid Excel/Microsoft Office skills

Nice to have (not required)

1. Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
2. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, OpenSpace, or similar
3. Exposure to design-build, CM, negotiated, or hard-bid delivery
